Two is Better Than One

I know these colors appear to be fall, but this card reminds me of Spring. A few years ago my husband and I spent spring break week in Destin, Florida. We rented a bicycle-built-for- two in Seaside. We rode all afternoon, purchased a picnic lunch to eat on the beach, and watched the sun set over the water. It was so romantic.
This card features the new Gina K stamp set: Better With You, Elizabeth Craft Designs stickers, and the pleated-skirt fold.

Better With Birdie

Upon being named the random winner of the Stamp TV splatter challenge, I received nice envelope of goodies. Part of my prize was a stamp set called "Pretty Patterns". I used emboss resist to add one of the patterns on this card. I also used "Better With You" stamps as the focal point and sentiment.

New for me was using the "Copic Matching Charts", my Copics instructor provided, to coordinate the colors of my card with the Copics I used to color the focal image. Actually it is a very simple process. I colored in each rectangle, then punched a hole in the middle of each rectangle. I placed the hole over the color I wished to match. You can easily isolate each Copic color making the choice simple.

Remember Lane

For this card I used two Gina K stamp sets: Northwoods 2 and Country Roads to form a vintage scene. I recently purchased Inkadinkado Stamping Mask Paper. The tree and the mailboxes were stamped and fussy cut from this paper. This acted as a mask against the background inking that was done. The truck is stamped on ivory card stock, colored with water-based markers, fussy cut, and pop dotted to the card.
This card reminds me of the postcards that my dad saved from the 40's. The Kraft paper with the inking resembles the paper from the antique cards.

Weathered Wood Birdhouse

I got some serious use out of my water pen on this one. I started by painting a horizon, then filling it in. I stamped the images on watercolor paper and painted them. I fussy cut the images and pop-dotted them to the card. I was so excited to finally use my weathered wood marker, that I matted it with a similar color as well as smokey gray. The flowers are abandoned coral.

Splat, the Cat

My sister's birthday is in two weeks and it's time to develop yet another card that is purple with a splash of cat, or is it cat with a splash of purple.
I was introduced to the Ranger distress marker spritzer tool a couple weeks ago. In case you haven't seen one it looks like this.

Since I have the complete collection of Tim Holtz distress markers, I knew I would be able to put it to use.
The "splats" are made with Victorian Velvet, Wild Honey, and Dusty Concord. I stamped the cats from Gina K's brand new stamp set (Better With You). One would think that it would be difficult to perfectly stamp these cats on the splatted strip, but with the aid of my MISTI, it was a snap. They are stamped with Stampin' Up Perfect Plum ink.
I embellished with gold cord, gold blink, and a lace flower with a pearl center.

Hooked a Keeper

Here is a silly little anniversary card. The sentiment is: "Hooked a keeper . . . in _____. Happy Anniversary". Just add the year in the blank. I used a Lawn Fawn die set to make this card.

Old-Fashioned Valentine

I chose an image from a 1947 Valentine for this card. I used some old Artyliscious and Prima Marketing pattern papers from my stash. I got the lace with pink ribbon insert from a garage sale. The button comes from a button basket at a machine embroidery place that I pop in to every once in a while just to see if they have new buttons in the button basket. They sell them 50 cents for a 2 x 4 bag full. Can't hardly beat that . I made the flower myself - another Prima Marketing paper. The sentiment was taken directly from that antique Valentine. And of course, I had to add some pearls and a paper heart doily. You absolutely can not have an old-fashioned Valentine without a paper doily!!!
