Panda Gift Bag

For my birthday this year, I decided to plan my own party. I met my kids and grandkids at the Natural History Museum Downtown. We checked out the exhibits and went to the I-MAX theater. The I-MAX was showing "Pandas". We went to Pappadeaux's Seafood for a mid-afternoon lunch, then back to my house for panda cupcakes. I had also prepared goody bags for the kids. I decorated bags that contained a fictional panda book, panda bubbles, panda cookies, and panda plushies.

I made a window using the Wood Leaves paper, then inseted the panda with 2 balloons. I tied twine to the balloons and attached them behind the panda's hand.

This is Brooklyn's bag. You can tell because of the "B" on the gift tag. I cut the "B" and panda out of the Kraft paper, then placed a black mat behind to make it pop. I used white Gell pen to make the v's for his eyes.

Here are the cupcakes I made using Pirouette Cookies. Don't the cookies look like bamboo???

My granddaughter is having a unicorn rainbow birthday party. I whipped this up on my Silhouette. Everything on this card is cut on the Silhouette except the sentiment, which is a Burniston die.  I used Echo Park's "Little Girl"

Panda Birthday

I love black/white and one more color. This Passionate Pink paper gets such a great POP with it. I just got this Pudgie Panda from Stamps of Life. It was just sitting on the craft table waiting to be used. Lisa Hidy designed this fun sketch for the challenge over at the Sketch N Scrap blog.

Front of Card
I had a different plan when I cut those two 1/8 inch strips. They reminded my of chopsticks so I stood them up.

Flip A Zoo

If you know baseball, you know that NOBODY was playing baseball on July 19 - it was still the AllStar break. My husband was on his way out the door to play poker. I was wondering what I was going to do with my evening. I was feeling so lazy that I wasn't even interested in crafting. Fifteen minutes before my husband left, my phone "dinged" with a notice that a CUBS game was starting in a few minutes.  Turns out that CUBS/Cardinals had a make-up game. Man - I came alive!!!! I was dancing my way to the craft room. What to make; what to make. I rifled through my photos and found these 6 pics of my grandson showing off his Flipazoo collection. I pulled out the Graphic 45 Safari Adventure Collection and Sketch #158. I set the Apple TV to CUBS baseball and in no time at all I had a one-page layout and the CUBS had 9 runs to the Cardinals 6. Good news all around!

Sketch # 158 by Lisa Hidy

I used my Cameo Silhouette to construct this title. I welded the word "Flip" with a pith helmet and added 3 mini silver eyelets for a realistic look.

Title
Since I fussy cut and matted a zebra in the corner, I repeated the zebra print on the helmet band, title mat, and chipboard button.

Matted Zebra
I shaped a piece of ephemera as a tag, added a zebra chipboard button, and a green ribbon knot. I penned a little journaling here.
