To Cute to Pinch

My daughter-in-law send pics of the kids in their greenery. I called my daughter to see if she had pics of the new baby in green. She said that she didn't have any green clothes for the baby. I got a pic a few minutes later of baby feet in green socks. I asked her if she had any green bows for the baby. She was able to take this pic.

Polka Birdie

Once again I am combining challenges. I have the Sketch n Scrap card sketch and Stamp TV's MIUM challenge for the week which is flowers and dots.

Sketch #94

For the background, I started by randomly sponging 4 colors, then used a bubble stencil over the sponging. I matched the colors of these inks with my Copics in order to color my stamped images.

Helen Keller Quote

Whenever I make a sympathy card, I usually include this quote from Helen Keller. "What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us."

The small card to the right shows the back of the inserted card.

For this card I constructed a pocket using Lawn Fawn's "Stitched Hillside Borders". Using gold embossing powder, I heat embossed one large and two small butterflies. The two small butterflies act as a tab for the card that is inserted into the pocket. The large butterfly is pop dotted to the pocket.
The background of the inserted card is stamped with a small flourish using Lovely Lavender ink.

Materials List:
Solid Paper: Gina K Designs - Fresh Asparagus
                                                      Wild Lilac
                                                      White Base Weight
Patterned Paper: Gina K Designs - Parisian Garden
Ink: Gina K Designs - Lovely Lavender
             Momento - Tuxedo Black
Stamps: Gina K Designs - Sending Love
                                                Country Roads 2

Daffodils with Inner Glow

This card was inspired by a challenge to use white colored pencil on kraft card stock. I tried stamping flowers with black ink; then using white colored pencil over it as was recommended for the challenge. This was NOT working for me. I just couldn't get a product that I was happy with. I decided to try something a little different. I first colored with white colored pencil then colored over top of that.

I did not use a heavy hand with the coloring, leaving some of the white peek through.

A Short Daffodil Coloring Tutorial

1. Loosely color all areas with white.
2. Add Yellow to flowers and lightest green to leaves.
 3. Use lightest brown to shade edges and other places indicated by the lines on the stamp.
 4. Add medium brown to area where petals originate.
 5. Add dark brown to deepest areas of flower.
 5. Use darker greens to add shading to the leaves.

Bold Birthday

For this card I combined two challenges - sketch and color. I just got this paper and stamp set in the mail two days ago and I have been anxious to use it. Here is sketch #93 from Sketch N Scrap.

Here are the colors allowed for the color challenge:

In order to form the flowers, I used the die for the larger flower to cut a solid mat for the medium-sized flower that I had already stamped and die cut. The flowers are held together with a small white brad.

For the envelope flap, I stamped a row of half flowers.

Someone's in the Kitchen

I took these pictures at my grandson's Pokemon birthday party. While the boys were jumping in the ball pit and flying on the zip line, Ellie was playing with the homemaking center. I happened on a blog "Sketch n Scrap" with nice sketches with enough details to interest me.

I made a two-page layout. The right page follows the sketch. I went rogue on the left page, but I feel that it complements the other.
