It's Your PIG Day

Today we are celebrating my daughter's 30th birthday. We are traveling to Ft. Worth for her party. I don't know if she still loves pigs as much as she did when she was a teenager, but I decided to make a pig card for her.

I decided to use the Faux Tile Technique and Stampin' Up - Bashful Blue ink since I was making a bathroom wall. The bathtub is Karen Burniston's die set "Bathtub Pop Stand". I stamped pig, sentiments and puddle from Beth Silaika's "Sophie, the Pig". I colored using Copics: RV32, 34, E41, 42, 44. The ducky on the inside of the card was part of the "Bathtub Pop Stand" set.

Inside of Card

Directions for Faux Tile Technique:

  1. Place diagonal score plate onto score board.
  2. Place card stock onto diagonal score board. Score at 1 inch intervals.
  3. Rotate 90 degrees and repeat: score at 1 inch intervals.
  4. Trim right angle from a piece of card stock to use as a mask.
  5. Place the mask on the bottom a square tile. Ink your sponge and GENTLY distress (pushing ink upwards) into the bottom of the square. Try to keep the ink out of the grout (score) lines.
  6. Repeat this on every square.

  1. Very cute card! I like your tutorial for the background. The paper mask would be very helpful! I love the little shiny bubbles in the tub.

  6. Your card is so adorable, and we at CC&CC thank you for entering our Girls of Summer challenge. Unfortunately it is not eligible for our prize drawing because it does not include a female on the card. We would love to have you do another and renter! Joanne
