Hope Makes Honey

After playing at a Faber-Castell workshop at CHA, I have been eager to try out my free gift that I was given for completing the class. I received a box containing 24 colors of Gelatos!

To make the background for this tag:
  • Paint Gesso onto Kraft paper.
  • Drag Expresso ink pad in strips down the paper. This gives a wood grain look.
  • Rub blueberry Gelato in upper left and lower right corners.
  • Use Wet Wipe or damp paper towel to smooth blueberry Gelato.
  • Place flower stencil and use Wet Wipe to remove Gelato from flower.
  • Use Wet Wipe to pull a bit of the blueberry away from the flower.
  • Use burlap stencil and Green Tea Gelato randomly.
  • Use clear Wink of Stella over the petals of the blueberry flower.
The embelly is one that I made a couple of years ago. The project got crushed. I rescued it from old project and now placed it onto a new project.

Picture in Picture

This is my first monochromatic card. I just started tossing blue stuff on to my craft table. I started with butterflies and birds. But as you can see, they never made it onto the card. I chose Melanie Muenchinger's "Branching Out" stamp set. I don't know how I ended up with Theresa Momber's "Wild About You" stamps. I love giraffes, so it was real treat to add them to this card.

Hey Ladybug

I started with Melanie Muenchinger"s "Inspiration Mosaic" stamp set. I stamped it with black on white. I then stamped the same image on My Mind's Eye: Buttercup Polka Dot with gray ink. I fussy cut each section of the stamped image and pieced it together. The other stamps are from "Lovely Ladybug".

I decided to try a couple homemade embellishments. I took a 1 1/2 in. black button and attached a 1 1/4 in. stamped background image to it with Glossy Accents, then covered the top with more Glossy Accents to make it shiny. I also added glitter to 3 heart-shaped black brads. I then used a toothpick to place red dots from a pearl pen.
