You're So Sweet

Today is my granddaughter's 6th birthay. She is nuts over Papa Huey's new blue Jeep Glaciator. She loves riding in it with the top off. I mixed in some more of her favorites: unicorns and ice cream.

The Jeep is completely covered in Elizabeth Craft ultra fine glitter and colored with Copic markers.

Aloha

I put this card together using stamps and dies from Stamps of Life. I love a card with a toucan and these tropical flowers are lovely too.

I used this sketch by Lisa Hidy from Sketch N Scrap.

Homemade Pizza

Making homemade pizza can be a family affair. Brooklyn and her daddy made very cheesy pizza together. I used La La Land Crafts Marci with Pizza to document the occasion.

I chose my patterned papers first and colored Marci and her little friends to match the colors in the paper. I usually take the patterned paper and note one Copic color match for each color in the paper. Then I sit down to color.

I wanted to try to get all of the dies that came with Mari on the layout as well. When I die cut these cheese blocks, I had no idea how I could use them. They ended up making great back drops for each of the characters.

The title is made using my Cameo Silhouette. This one is kinda simple, but I was pretty happy with it.

There was quite a bit of work that went into the pizza paddle. Unfortunately you can't really see what was done. I placed two equally spaced score lines down the paddle. I then took a pad of white pigment ink and drug ii down the paddle. Next I dragged a pad of dark brown ink over that. It makes the wood look weathered.  I am going to include a chart of the card stock and ink I used in making this pizza. I am going to put the chart here so that the next time I want to make this pizza, I will have all of the information to do it. I really like the way this turned out, and would probably do the same way again.

Strawberry Picking & Dipping

The day before Mother's Day, my daughter's family went strawberry picking. They took pictures of Brooklyn picking strawberries. The next morning Brooklyn and her daddy dipped the prettiest strawberries in chocolate as a Mother's Day gift - another opportunity for pictures.

The strawberries and leaves are die cut from white card stock. At first glance one might think that the edges are inked with a very dark ink. In fact I made 1/16 inch mats for them using the Silhouette.
To make the banners, I used the Silhouette to cut the words "PICKING" and "DIPPING" from black card stock. I then used one of La La Land Crafts' Long Flags to die cut while centering the titles.

FYI: this basket of strawberries weighs a ton. There are so many layers here. The basket is a die-cut - double thickness - and a mat which is also a die cut. All of this coupled with strawberries and leaves makes for a sturdy addition to this layout.

These enamel dots are part of a collection specifically made for this paper line from Carta Bella.

As soon as I saw the pictures from the strawberry field, I went on-line searching for a cute image to color for a layout. This little sweetie was released in July of 2015. I was able to find a new, never-used stamp on ebay.

Braver, Stronger, Smarter, Loved

I originally purchased this Authentique paper for pics of my grandson playing tennis. When I got these two pics of him shooting a hunting gun with his daddy for the first time, I thought this was the perfect paper. Because of this, this was one of the fastest layouts I have ever put together.

Here is the sketch by Lisa Hidy in which this layout is based. I did make a 90 degree turn clockwise.

Muddy Puddle Boots

"Molli with Umbrella" is the perfect opportunity to make a layout of my granddaughters playing in their rain boots. Since the girls are cousins, they have their own individual scrapbooks. For this reason, I made two of these layouts - identical.
When I reached into the envelope of Ecru card stock I found tons of Ecru circles that were leftovers from a layout I worked on last year in May called "Summertime Bicycles". Well I managed to work 6 of them in on EACH layout. Needless to say this was a huge influence on the design of this project.

The title was constructed on the Silhouette. I input the shapes of the tulips and the boot in order to incorporate the die cuts onto the mats.

This is the first time I have ever used a stencil on a layout. Here Mollie and one of the ducks are taking a stroll after a shower.

I was going to sit this duck under the tree when I saw that he would look perfect in a swing. The construction for the swing is SUPER simple. I just cut a purple rectangle, punched it twice with a 1/16 inch hole punch, tied the knots under the swing. Pop dotted it to the page - letting the knots show, and used the small punch on the Crop-A-Dile Big Bite to punch the holes in the tree.

The jean pockets are just right for a tag. I used the second smallest tag in the largest pocket. There are photos on both sides of the tag.

Here is one of the layouts with the pictures on it.
