Seasons Springtime Calendar

Here is the first of 4 seasonal calendars made with Graphic 45's "Seasons" Collection.

Spring Calendar

I decided on an easel card to better display the calendar. One thing that you can't really see, is that the calendar is for the Spring months only. Under the month of March 2018 is April 2018, May 2018, March 2019, April 2019, and May 2019. The brads allow the calendar to be extended to later years as those calendars become available. I downloaded these calendars from Print-a-Calendar.

To brace the card there is a row of Burniston's flowers with gem centers.

I will be making 16 cards and 4 calendars with this Graphic 45 Seasons Paper. All of these SEASON cards can be made using:

  • one sheet of each of the patterned paper
  • one sheet of each of  Prints and Solids
In order to make All Seasons cards and calendars, you only need purchase the following items once:
  • Tags and Pockets
  • Chip Board
  • Ephemera
  • Stickers
Stay tuned for more cards this year.

Molli Visits Houston

This was a super enjoyable card to make. The sketch made it easy. My friend Gigi lent her "City Mollie" stamp to play with. The word "city" just jumped right out at me. I used my Cameo Silhouette to cut the Houston skyline. BTW: there are tons of skylines in their Design Store. Not too long ago I looked up all of the cities that have major league baseball teams and only two of them were not there (Baltimore and San Diego, I think).
I really enjoy dressing these girls. I am using the Maja Designs Celebrations collection. It is a challenge to figure out the order to place the clothing, so the perspective is just right. It is a simple card, but Mollie has enough details to give it interest.
I will also mention that the scripty writing across the top is part of the paper. I liked it and made sure that it was visible. I have gotten several comments like "What does it say?". I'm pretty sure that it is Swedish - really - because this paper is made in Sweden.

Seasons Spring Center Step

Here is a spring mantle card made with Graphic 45's Seasons Collection. The base of this card is a center step with kraft card stock.

Front of Card
The card features a handmade window embossed with a wood grain folder. The window pane is die cut from a Stampin Up die on an antique gold paper. It is pop dotted to the card using double thick dots.

Trellis Window

The card is embellished with die cut flowers, organza ribbon, champagne pearls, and Graphic 45 ephemara as well. The butterflies were fussy cut from the patterned paper.

Above Rubies

Here is another layout for the 50th anniversary mini album. I finally figured out the titles on the pages for the book. I have already removed all of the previous titles and changed them to bible verses.

2-Page Layout
I am really enjoying taking these one-page sketches and turning them into 2-page layouts. One reason that this works is because the second page can be adjusted anyway I please to accommodate the pictures I have left.

Sketch #150 by Lisa Hidy

My brother and his wife had a long distance romance. She was from Ontario, Canada and we lived in northern Illinois.

Hey, I am in this bridal party pic. I am the second from the right. This was a special day for me as well. This is the only time I ever served as a bridesmaid and it was my first long dress. I felt very much like a princess that day. I remember at the rehearsal as I walked down the aisle, my brother Lyle said that I had natural poise for this sort of thing - he worded it differently. You never forget moments like that. Kind makes you think about remembering to say something nice/complimentary to people whenever you get a chance.

I have always thought that they were the perfect couple. They were very lucky to have found each other.
