Doodles

Here is a time fusion project. I have definitely mixed the new with the old. I purchased this Bo Bunny paper years ago while at a crop in Tyler, TX. The paper was old then. I was purchasing the last dregs of it - one piece at a time. The scrapbook store is not there anymore, but then that has been happening a lot. So sad.
The stamp and die set is relatively new (January) called Marci with Pen. It included 3 Little Pigs writing and delivering the mail.
This was the perfect way to frame my granddaughter's handwriting lesson for the letter N.

This sketch is part of a collaboration between Cookin' Up Creations and Sketch N Scrap.

Sketch #82 by Lisa Hidy
I colored Marci and the pigs using Copics. I cut them out and made mats with the Silhouette to make the characters pop.

The "WITH LOVE" sentiment was included in the die set. These are such handy dies, because the letters that pop out of the die can be used independently.

There was an envelope border die.

I used my Silhouette to make the "Doodles" and "My Darling" titles. I had a lot of fun doodling on the letters of the titles.

On the second page are photos of my granddaughter learning to write her name.

In the corner are a pen and ink bottle, also cut from dies.

Both pages together - no pics

Rocky Mountain Columbine

Here is the 50th wedding anniversary card I made for my brother and his wife. He lives in Colorado and I wanted to include the state flower - The Rocky Mountain Columbine. I just love the Stately Flower sets by Melanie Mueschinger. I have all 12 set, therefore every state flower. Included in the stamps are stamps of the names of the states and the names of the flowers. This makes it possible to stamp these onto the card as I did on the inside of this card.

I used two different embossing folders and heat embossed with gold to make the butterflies and the sentiment.
Here is a picture of the Rocky Mountain Columbine, which I used while coloring the flower.

Above Rubies

Here is another layout for the 50th anniversary mini album. I finally figured out the titles on the pages for the book. I have already removed all of the previous titles and changed them to bible verses.

2-Page Layout
I am really enjoying taking these one-page sketches and turning them into 2-page layouts. One reason that this works is because the second page can be adjusted anyway I please to accommodate the pictures I have left.

Sketch #150 by Lisa Hidy

My brother and his wife had a long distance romance. She was from Ontario, Canada and we lived in northern Illinois.

Hey, I am in this bridal party pic. I am the second from the right. This was a special day for me as well. This is the only time I ever served as a bridesmaid and it was my first long dress. I felt very much like a princess that day. I remember at the rehearsal as I walked down the aisle, my brother Lyle said that I had natural poise for this sort of thing - he worded it differently. You never forget moments like that. Kind makes you think about remembering to say something nice/complimentary to people whenever you get a chance.

I have always thought that they were the perfect couple. They were very lucky to have found each other.

Juliet Pocket Letter

For the May Savvy Challenge, patrons of the Scrapp'n Savvy in Spring, Texas were asked to use a component of the Bo Bunny Juliet Paper Collection to create -- anything.
I chose the Misc Me Juliet Journal Contents and a sheet of "Verona" designer paper. You can see a little of it peeking thru on the bottom left pockets and the bottom center. All of the stamps are from Gina K sets.

The top row is backed with wood grain paper with a striped border. The border is an old Recollection punch from the clearance aisle at Michael's. That is where more than half of my punches come from - the clearance aisle, that is. The bicycle built for two is from "Better With You". The cherry tree and branch are from "Birds & Blossoms 2". The butterflies are Martha Stewart's 3-1 Butterflies.
The middle row starts off with the Stampin Up "Bird Builder". The sentiment and cherry blossom from "Birds and Blossoms 2" are framed by a Carta Bella label from "Label Set #9". A key charm is added to the lock journaling card
The paper does ALL of the work in the bottom left corner. The center pocket contains an oval frame stamped with a bird from "Birthday Blessings" and sentiment from "Birds and Blossoms 2". The last pocket contains an inserted plastic pocket of Recollections confetti placed over a stamped mason jar and posies from "Birthday Blessings".
