Doodles

Here is a time fusion project. I have definitely mixed the new with the old. I purchased this Bo Bunny paper years ago while at a crop in Tyler, TX. The paper was old then. I was purchasing the last dregs of it - one piece at a time. The scrapbook store is not there anymore, but then that has been happening a lot. So sad.
The stamp and die set is relatively new (January) called Marci with Pen. It included 3 Little Pigs writing and delivering the mail.
This was the perfect way to frame my granddaughter's handwriting lesson for the letter N.

This sketch is part of a collaboration between Cookin' Up Creations and Sketch N Scrap.

Sketch #82 by Lisa Hidy
I colored Marci and the pigs using Copics. I cut them out and made mats with the Silhouette to make the characters pop.

The "WITH LOVE" sentiment was included in the die set. These are such handy dies, because the letters that pop out of the die can be used independently.

There was an envelope border die.

I used my Silhouette to make the "Doodles" and "My Darling" titles. I had a lot of fun doodling on the letters of the titles.

On the second page are photos of my granddaughter learning to write her name.

In the corner are a pen and ink bottle, also cut from dies.

Both pages together - no pics

Chillin With Friends

I took an online class with Stephanie from Stamps of Life this month. We made 3 cards using this exclusive "Arctic Animals 2 Stamp" set and dies. The Igloo Fold It is also exclusive to the class. (You had to be taking the class to be able to purchase this.) In the homework before class we were encouraged to stamp, color, and die cut some extra animals in case Stephanie made a change in the plans. I had several animals left over and I just love to incorporate my stamping into my scrapbooking.

I had purchased some glittery aqua paper from Hobby Lobby for the class and had almost the entire page left so I used it to mat the igloo and for the floating sea ice. This sea ice is authentic to our visit to Glacier Bay, Alaska. We even saw mommy otters with babies on their bellies sunning themselves on floating sea ice on the day this pic was taken.

I used the Silhouette to make the title. I welded together the title and the mats for the walrus and narwal whale. Since I had already made all of the animals before starting this project, it came together super easily. I also welded the two pics in the sketch into one.

See Ya Soon

I realize that this may give the impression that I have finally completed the daunting task of scrapbooking the 87 pictures from the Jellystone Park camping trip with the grandchildren. Yes these are the final pics from that trip. Huey is walking the kids to the RV, right before we take off for home. I have all of the pics in groups by topic and this is one of the packs of two . . .

. . . and I needed two pics for this wonderful sketch by Heather Hall at Sketch N Scrap.
This page came together so easily. I used one of the kids' orange wrist bands across the picture. I also cut the logo for Jellystone off of the vehicle access tag that hung on the rear-view mirror. The pic in the lower right corner is supposed to be very small so I cut away and into an odd shape to give the illusion of a smaller picture.
I used another page from the Yogi Bear Coloring Book that I got at the Jellystone Gift Shop. I colored with Prisma colored pencils and smoothed them out with gamsol. I just love the way the coloring turned out.
I used the Silhouette to form the title. I welded together the conversation bubble, Boo Boo and "Leaving".
So 9 pictures down and 78 to go.

Easter Bunny

These are the pictures from last Easter. I needed to get them in the book before taking new ones this year.

I love this sketch. You have all month to try it out, post it to the Sketch N Scrap blog, and then be entered for a prize.

Sketch #148
This page follows the sketch. I used Echo Park's "Easter" collection. The title is a new die cut from Stamps of Life. I purposely placed it above the word "bunny" on the word strip.

The word strip is continued on to the second page as a connector between the 2 pages. I die cut the year "2017" with a Burniston die and added it below the word Easter.

The bunny is "Lucky the Rabbit" - a die set from Burniston. I used some pink dotted swiss paper from the collection for the ears, nose and feet. The eggs on the layout are old dies from Echo park. I fussy cut mats for them.

I need to stop making personal rules. I have a no sticker rule, but here I am using them. I used the tree, a flower, and a pink bunny on this layout. The shiny flowers are also from a sticker set. The grass (Burnistion die) grounds the rabbit and the tree.

This is a flap.

I found this stamp - "The ears are the best part" at Hobby Lobby a week ago. It was on the clearance rack for 50 cents. It made me laugh, so I bought it. After stamping it I made a flap for it. I used a utility knife to slice a spot to pull the ears of a sticker bunny through. A fun place for one more pic was created. I placed 2 magnets - one behind the pic and one on the back of the bunny mat - to keep the flap closed.

The Boo Crew

I love this sketch. You have all month to try it out, post it to the Sketch N Scrap blog, and then be entered for a prize.

Sketch #138

I had a stack of Halloween pictures of my grandchildren in their costumes. I decided to use Karen Burniston's new Halloween dies and some treasured patterned paper to document them. Midnight the Bat - which includes the small bat - is one of Karen's older dies. The rest of the elements in the Halloween scene are from her new release.

Some of the fun tidbits are:
  • Title - I used my Cameo Silhouette to make this. The neat thing is that the "Boo!" is the die cut directly from the Big Shot. With the Silhouette PixScan Mat, I was able to make it fit onto the mats perfectly.
  • Stars - The stars are die cut from the "Spooky Stars" patterned paper.
  • House - The die has a stencil feature. I was able to sponge over the die to get the bricks on the house. I elected to tear the shutters to give a haunted look.
  • Patterned Paper - My fave part about this entire layout is the paper. There used to be a scrapbook outlet store in Destin, Florida. We vacation there every year and I looked forward to visiting this store. As of 2 years ago, it is no longer there. I got 5 sheets of this collection several years back and every time I pulled it out, I didn't want to cut into it to make one card. For this layout I used almost all of it. I used the scraps to create a Halloween card that I will be posting October 28.

Dreaming of Snow

For this layout, I used a sketch from Let's Scrap Sketches. I've had it finished for a while, but I forgot to enter it and the deadline was yesterday. I'll just blog about it anyway.

I was planning to put a huge snowman head in the lower left corner with the snowman tipping his hat, but he just didn't look that great without his hat on. I ended up making my own Silhouette cutout of a snowman for this layout.

The snow globe is a a combination of two purchased Silhouette files. I used Karen Burniston's new snowman die inside the globe.

The hat and scarf on the title are from an old Elizabeth Craft Designs die.

The mittens are from Stamps of Life.

Eeyore's Kiss

I am finally getting a chance to scrapbook some pics from my visit to Disney in Anaheim. My fave character is Eeyore who I met at breakfast. As you can see, he was pretty happy to meet me as well.

I used this sketch from Sketch N Scrap. As usual there is a challenge on the blog and you are invited to participate. It is easy to link up your project and see if you are the lucky winner. Just try out the sketch below.

Layout Sketch #134

The Eeyore Mickey is a purchase from Etsy. I altered the bottom of it a bit. In order to have the tail swing back and forth on a black brad, I made my own svg file of a donkey tail.

I think I'm going to call this font "My Eeyore Font" from now on. It fits perfectly on this banner.
I have to mention the mini Eeyore punch. My husband gave it to me years ago. He brought my lunch to my classroom one day and I found it in the bottom of the bag. Surprise!!! I punched a few and added them to A+ papers This is the first time I've used it in my paper crafting.
I ended up making a complimentary page to extend it into a 2-page layout.

I added a fun tag to page 2. It goes behind the mat and is forced to stop when it meets the back strip. When you pull it, it is fun to see the yellow disappear.

I added a "Hidden Mickey" on the tag as well. You can't see it until you pull the tag. That makes 4 "Hidden Mickey's" on this 2-page layout. Can you find them all?

Patterned Paper: Echo Park - Magical Adventure
