I love this sketch. You have all month to try it out, post it to the Sketch N Scrap blog, and then be entered for a prize.
I had a stack of Halloween pictures of my grandchildren in their costumes. I decided to use Karen Burniston's new Halloween dies and some treasured patterned paper to document them. I know that I warned my Sketch N Scrap friends that I would be boring them with pics of my grandchildren. I was definitely right about that!!!
Sketch #138 |
I had a stack of Halloween pictures of my grandchildren in their costumes. I decided to use Karen Burniston's new Halloween dies and some treasured patterned paper to document them. Midnight the Bat - which includes the small bat - is one of Karen's older dies. The rest of the elements in the Halloween scene are from her new release.
Some of the fun tidbits are:
- Title - I used my Cameo Silhouette to make this. The neat thing is that the "Boo!" is the die cut directly from the Big Shot. With the Silhouette PixScan Mat, I was able to make it fit onto the mats perfectly.
- Stars - The stars are die cut from the "Spooky Stars" patterned paper.
- House - The die has a stencil feature. I was able to sponge over the die to get the bricks on the house. I elected to tear the shutters to give a haunted look.
- Patterned Paper - My fave part about this entire layout is the paper. There used to be a scrapbook outlet store in Destin, Florida. We vacation there every year and I looked forward to visiting this store. As of 2 years ago, it is no longer there. I got 5 sheets of this collection several years back and every time I pulled it out, I didn't want to cut into it to make one card. For this layout I used almost all of it. I used the scraps to create a Halloween card that I will be posting October 28.
