Keller's Sunshine Quote

Sketch N Scrap is turning 7!  For this momentous occasion, we have a true Birthday Bash! We will be celebrating with a month-long paper crafting BINGO game. You can get all of the info as well as participate by clicking on the picture below.

All of the fun goes all month. Using this link, you can join the group. Using old and new sketches you will be able to fill in your BINGO card. Every bingo gets you closer to winning prizes. Head on over and check out the details!!!!
Even though I am unable to win those fab prizes, I will be participating. Here is my entry for my seventh BINGO square . . .

I am really rooting through my old unused stamps this month. I have had both of these sets for quite some time.

Helen Keller quotes are some of my very favorite. I have several stamps of her quotes. The "Sunflower Sweetheart" by My Favorite Things has a darling girl holding a sunflower. I will have to get this set out again very soon. I would love to color her.

Rockin' in the Jungle

I went back to a 2015 sketch for this card. What a fun stamp set this is! It is "Jungle Vibes" from My Favorite Things. I let the sketch and this Echo Park patterned paper drive the making of this card. I color-match Copics to color the money and tree.
WCMD 2015 Sketch by Mandy Reedyk
I did try something kind of new here. I used Gina K's new card stock color - Skeleton Leaves. The fun part is that I stamped and colored the images on this paper. It gave a wonderful antiqued feel. It reminds me of the illustrations in an old Dick and Jane text book. This card looks like a relic from the 1960's.

For the inside of the card, I repeated the paper and musical notes, but used a different image. Can you see the mistake I made on the sentiment? I decided to leave it; as is. In order to fix it, I would have had to take the whole inside of the card apart. I think my nephew will get the idea of what was intended.

Just Beakause

This card is driven by two challenges. One is the sketch you see below and the other is for Stamp TV's Monthly Mix. The mix for this month is wings with optional gold.
Sketch #16 by Lisa Hidy
This toucan has a history. When I color an image for a card, I almost always color an extra. Two years ago, I made a Noah's Ark Circle Step Card with a toucan instead of a seagull. As usual I made an extra toucan. A few days ago my husband handed this toucan to me and said that he found it on the floor. Hmmmmm . . . I decided to use him for my "wing" requirement. He comes from a Beth Salaika stamp set called "Xavier Zebra". This wonderful toucan did not get top billing.

Inside the card, I used the same patterned paper and leaf vine stamp from the front of the card. I have been working on a data base for my dies and stamps (and soon to add embossing folders and stencils). I was able to put in a search for "it's your birthday" and Gina K's "Happy Spring" stamp set came up. Even though it is not yet complete, I have used this data base several times to determine if I already own a stamp or die or to locate one in my craft room.

TN: Cruisin' Through Life

Here is my April addition to my Traveler's Notebook. We were so happy to receive the bike rack for our RV. Here is a pic of Huey putting it on for the first time. He had just finished putting the second bike on, when I snapped this picture. We are looking forward to some serious bike riding, especially if we can ever get a reservation to stay in Grayton Beach, Florida. That place stays booked.

For this page I stuck right to the sketch, as well as the color scheme that Lori added as a twist for her challenge. I got out an old bicycle stamp set from Lawn Fawn. That gave me the bike, pinwheels, and title. I didn't want to use the basket on the bicycle, so in the end it gave the placement of the bicycle an artsy look. It's wonderful, the way the bicycle die cuts out the spokes and everything. It really is a fun set!

All of these papers are from the same Bo Bunny - Calendar Girl tablet that I have. I like the way this wood background works here. Also note that, I am using Washi tape and didn't even have to! I am not a fan of Washi tape, but I had fun using it here.

T(Y)oucan Do It?

I have been wanting this stamp/die set for well over a year now. A few weeks ago My Favorite Things placed it on clearance. I got both for pieces for half price.
Stacy was having a quick scrap as part of the Sketch N Scrap birthday festivities. I decided to participate, but as usual I am NOT good at the fine print. I was making this card thinking I had until 1PM to complete it. At 10:55 I realized that it actually had to be completed and posted on FaceBook by 11:00. I hadn't glued the first thing down. In five minutes, I glued down all of the front of the card, took a terrible picture, posted in the appropriate folder (the picture was sideways), and sat back to take a deep breath of relief. I started looking through the other entries in the folder and realized they were all from the same sketch. I did not realize that I was supposed to use the required sketch. I immediately deleted the picture from the folder and set out to complete the inside of the card.

Card Sketch #58 by Lisa Hidy
This is that card. It is now complete and I have taken some extra time making sure the photographs are right side up.

I have used this sketch before. Go here to see the previous card. This time I flipped the sketch. I used some Echo Park Jungle themed paper and colored the toucans with my Copics.

I am entering this card in the Sketch N Scrap BINGO game in the box labeled "Song". So here is the song: "The Toucan Song". You can hear the melody on YouTube here

Inside of Card
I made this card for a high school graduation. The daughter of one of husband's buddies is graduating.

My BINGO card so far.
The Toucan Song

In the jungle I can fly
Thru the trees way up high.
I am a one; I am a two
I am a toucan, so are you.

To to to toucan; to to toucan
Eat some berries; eat a seed
Fresh ripe fruit; it’s what I need

Oh! Bam toucan

I live in holes; I got a beak
I play games; squawk and squeak
Black and white; orange and blue
Red and green; what about you

To to to toucan; to to toucan
Eat some berries; eat a seed
Fresh ripe fruit; it’s what I need

Oh! Bam toucan
