Strawberry Picking & Dipping

The day before Mother's Day, my daughter's family went strawberry picking. They took pictures of Brooklyn picking strawberries. The next morning Brooklyn and her daddy dipped the prettiest strawberries in chocolate as a Mother's Day gift - another opportunity for pictures.

The strawberries and leaves are die cut from white card stock. At first glance one might think that the edges are inked with a very dark ink. In fact I made 1/16 inch mats for them using the Silhouette.
To make the banners, I used the Silhouette to cut the words "PICKING" and "DIPPING" from black card stock. I then used one of La La Land Crafts' Long Flags to die cut while centering the titles.

FYI: this basket of strawberries weighs a ton. There are so many layers here. The basket is a die-cut - double thickness - and a mat which is also a die cut. All of this coupled with strawberries and leaves makes for a sturdy addition to this layout.

These enamel dots are part of a collection specifically made for this paper line from Carta Bella.

As soon as I saw the pictures from the strawberry field, I went on-line searching for a cute image to color for a layout. This little sweetie was released in July of 2015. I was able to find a new, never-used stamp on ebay.

Doodles

Here is a time fusion project. I have definitely mixed the new with the old. I purchased this Bo Bunny paper years ago while at a crop in Tyler, TX. The paper was old then. I was purchasing the last dregs of it - one piece at a time. The scrapbook store is not there anymore, but then that has been happening a lot. So sad.
The stamp and die set is relatively new (January) called Marci with Pen. It included 3 Little Pigs writing and delivering the mail.
This was the perfect way to frame my granddaughter's handwriting lesson for the letter N.

This sketch is part of a collaboration between Cookin' Up Creations and Sketch N Scrap.

Sketch #82 by Lisa Hidy
I colored Marci and the pigs using Copics. I cut them out and made mats with the Silhouette to make the characters pop.

The "WITH LOVE" sentiment was included in the die set. These are such handy dies, because the letters that pop out of the die can be used independently.

There was an envelope border die.

I used my Silhouette to make the "Doodles" and "My Darling" titles. I had a lot of fun doodling on the letters of the titles.

On the second page are photos of my granddaughter learning to write her name.

In the corner are a pen and ink bottle, also cut from dies.

Molli Visits Houston

This was a super enjoyable card to make. The sketch made it easy. My friend Gigi lent her "City Mollie" stamp to play with. The word "city" just jumped right out at me. I used my Cameo Silhouette to cut the Houston skyline. BTW: there are tons of skylines in their Design Store. Not too long ago I looked up all of the cities that have major league baseball teams and only two of them were not there (Baltimore and San Diego, I think).
I really enjoy dressing these girls. I am using the Maja Designs Celebrations collection. It is a challenge to figure out the order to place the clothing, so the perspective is just right. It is a simple card, but Mollie has enough details to give it interest.
I will also mention that the scripty writing across the top is part of the paper. I liked it and made sure that it was visible. I have gotten several comments like "What does it say?". I'm pretty sure that it is Swedish - really - because this paper is made in Sweden.
