Doodles

Here is a time fusion project. I have definitely mixed the new with the old. I purchased this Bo Bunny paper years ago while at a crop in Tyler, TX. The paper was old then. I was purchasing the last dregs of it - one piece at a time. The scrapbook store is not there anymore, but then that has been happening a lot. So sad.
The stamp and die set is relatively new (January) called Marci with Pen. It included 3 Little Pigs writing and delivering the mail.
This was the perfect way to frame my granddaughter's handwriting lesson for the letter N.

This sketch is part of a collaboration between Cookin' Up Creations and Sketch N Scrap.

Sketch #82 by Lisa Hidy
I colored Marci and the pigs using Copics. I cut them out and made mats with the Silhouette to make the characters pop.

The "WITH LOVE" sentiment was included in the die set. These are such handy dies, because the letters that pop out of the die can be used independently.

There was an envelope border die.

I used my Silhouette to make the "Doodles" and "My Darling" titles. I had a lot of fun doodling on the letters of the titles.

On the second page are photos of my granddaughter learning to write her name.

In the corner are a pen and ink bottle, also cut from dies.

Both pages together - no pics

See Ya Soon

I realize that this may give the impression that I have finally completed the daunting task of scrapbooking the 87 pictures from the Jellystone Park camping trip with the grandchildren. Yes these are the final pics from that trip. Huey is walking the kids to the RV, right before we take off for home. I have all of the pics in groups by topic and this is one of the packs of two . . .

. . . and I needed two pics for this wonderful sketch by Heather Hall at Sketch N Scrap.
This page came together so easily. I used one of the kids' orange wrist bands across the picture. I also cut the logo for Jellystone off of the vehicle access tag that hung on the rear-view mirror. The pic in the lower right corner is supposed to be very small so I cut away and into an odd shape to give the illusion of a smaller picture.
I used another page from the Yogi Bear Coloring Book that I got at the Jellystone Gift Shop. I colored with Prisma colored pencils and smoothed them out with gamsol. I just love the way the coloring turned out.
I used the Silhouette to form the title. I welded together the conversation bubble, Boo Boo and "Leaving".
So 9 pictures down and 78 to go.

Santa's Belt

I have been playing with soda pop tops for the last 3 days. I think I have used 9 of them so far. It all started with some gift tags for under the tree. You can see these tags here.

When I started playing with this card sketch from Sketch N Scrap, my first thought was -- where is the pop top (Santa Belt) going to be. Once I had that figured out I located this Santa from an old set I had. Sometimes I wish I had dated my stamp sets, so I would know how old they really are.
One thing I know for certain is that this paper from Carta Bella is two years old. I have 6 or 7 sheets left from a Christmas tag swap. I chose it here because the red matched the red I wanted to use on Santa's suit.

Sketch #136 by Lisa Hidy

I used my Copic markers to color this Santa. I set the picture on large, allowing you to analyze my coloring out of the lines. You can see I took this pic before I added the bling to the tree.

Here is the inside of the card. I had several partial sheets of patterned paper, so finding scraps was no problem.

Tropical Blooms with Bubbles

A friend of mine celebrated her birthday yesterday. I made this card for her. She and her husband were here last evening. We had dinner on the patio and surprised her with a fun little strawberry short cake with a candle on top.

Card and Envelope

Sketch #177 by Heather Hall

When this card is opened, the insides twist and open showing 4 panels. This is a newish die from Karen Burniston. I watched a video in order to figure out how to make it. I was SHOCKED at how easy this was to construct.

The flowers are from Gina K's January release called "Tropical Blooms. They are made with a three-stamp process. The MISTI came in especially handy. The stamp on the card front was a two-stamp. The bubbles in the background are sponged with Gina K's Fresh Asparagus and a Dutch Doobadoo stencil. I may have gotten a little carried away with the bubbles. They were so much fun. I'm thinking that a few less and a little lighter might have been better.

The sentiment is separated between one of the twisted panels and a tag collage. The tags have white rick rack in the eyelets.

The peach was added with Gina K's Peach Bellini ink. There is NO patterned paper on this card. The color was added to the sentiments and hearts using ink and dauber. I used an ek bubble edge punch to make more bubbles -- because there weren't enough. TeeHee!

Just the envelope

Sprinkle Fairy Spinner

It seems I only have time for one card a week. I formally would make a card almost daily. We are in the process of selling our house and building another. I gutted my craft room. The realtor wanted me to completely shut it down and show the room as a bedroom. I have stored almost half of my crafting goodies and am working with only the essentials. This is my new house taken a couple of days ago. The craft room is two bedrooms with and arched doorway between. I will be just inside that front window on the left making cards - hopefully before Christmas.

Anyway ... my granddaughter's 2nd birthday party is today. I combined challenge cards with her birthday to get both in this week.

Splitcoasters posted a spinner card tutorial and I received my Gina K order with 5 new stamp sets - both this week. Claire Brennan designed this set: "Sweet Thing". I thought this cute little fairy should sprinkle this cupcake for Ellie's birthday. I placed the green card stock to block the bottom of the spinner, so none of the fairy's sprinkles are wasted on the cupcake wrapper (lol).
I stamped the cupcake wrapper on light pink CS and fussy cut it. The fairy is also fussy cut. I accentuated her wand with a star from the punch and a kite string from a die set.

Inside of Card

As usual I used scraps to complete the inside of the card. You can tell what is laying on my craft table after a project by what is on the inside of the card. I added green circles and the "cherry on top".
