Crow About It

Here is a fun fall card using Close to My Heart paper and one of Darice's tin pins. Fall colors are my absolute fave to work with.

Card Sketch #152 by Lisa Hidy
I began by stamping the image and coloring it - matching the colors to those on the tin pin. A tin pin is essentially a metal shank button with a flat back. Once you color the image the tin pin is added and it fits perfectly giving a 3-D effect to the image.

An extra tin pin to show you what they look like.
A fun little note for this tin pin is that the crow had a green headband. I wanted the headband to match the red in the patterned paper, so I used an alcohol marker to change the headband to the perfect shade of red.

On the inside of the card, there is a little boo boo. When I started coloring the sunflowers, I checked the Copic markers that I used on the front of the card. I should have double checked, because I accidentally colored these sunflowers the same colors as the crow's beak. OOPS!
