Corrugated Coffee

Another coffee card?  No problem. It's one of my favorite topics.
I started by using the shabby polka dot background, only with the coffee bean embossing folder. I made two and dragged Gina K's Kraft ink pad over one of them and lightly distressed the other with the same ink.
I tore a large corner from the first background and distressed roughly with Tim Holtz distressing tool along the tear. I mounted this background over the other and centered on the card base.

The stamp set used is Claire Brennan's "Coffee". I stamped using Kraft and Tomato Soup. The red corrugated card stock is used as a mat and a thin line for the mugs to sit on. I found the Darice nesting die set (Wavy Squares) at Tuesday Morning last week. I couldn't wait to use it.

 Same card - different sentiment

Dad's Goin' Golfin'

Here's a Graphic 45 blast from the past. This paper has been discontinued for quite some time. I found it in the clearance bin at the scrapbooking store. It is from the Good 'Ol Sport Collection. The plaid just made me think of golfing.

The image is from Lili of the Valley. The men in my family love to golf. My husband is always looking for the perfect club to improve his game.

The color was added with Copics:
          Skin: E000, 00, 33, R20
               Hat/Pants: E21, 23, 25
               Hair: E25
               Shoes: W0, 1. 3, E23
               Bag: YG91, 93, 95, 97
               Grip: YG91, 93
               Shirt: BG72, 75
               Clubs: Irons - C1, 3, 5
                         Wood - E23, 25
               Grass - YG03

To make the sentiment I punch red buttons from the Martha Stewart button punch. I die cut the smallest circle from Our Daily Bread "Stitched Circles". The letters are also punched from the Martha Stewart Alphabet Punches.

Horses with Shaker

This card is inspired by a "How to Make a Sunrise Background" using masking video done by Theresa Momber. I had to use different ink colors since I didn't have any of the inks she used. My sunrise doesn't have as much red in it as Theresa's.
I wanted to make a shaker card. I started with Melanie Muenchinger's "Branching Out" stamp set for the background. The horses and sentiment are from Theresa Momber's "Country Roads 2" stamp set.
I made the shaker part using two pieces of acetate. I used a fuse to make a 3 sided pocket, poured in brown PVC glitter from Michael's, then used the fuse to close the fourth side. This is the easiest shaker card I have ever made. It is flat and the shaker items to not get stuck in any adhesives or static cling to the window of the shaker.
I made this card at a scrapping crop night. The whole time I was telling everyone that I was happy with the card, but the shaker was going to be dumb. The plan was that after I finished the card, I would immediately make another card just like it with no shaker in the window. Well, when I completed the card, I was totally happy with it and no longer felt the need to make another.

Embroidery Hoop: Circle Easel

The challenge at Scrappn' Savvy this month is to use a spool. Karrie, the owner also handed me a package of Tim Holtz "Textured Surfaces" and asked "What can you make out of this?" The package contains burlap, cork, and corrugated cardboard.
I decided on my colors based on the Stamp TV Fun Friday color challenge - white, kraft, bermuda lagoon, ocean mist.
I started with Eileen Hull's Embroidery Hoop die and the burlap. I painted the hoop, spool (cut in half), and chipboard pieces using white and Martha Stewarts "Bermuda Sky".

I die-cut the scallops using Spellbinders "Petite Scalloped Circles - Large". The bird is from Gina K's "Birthday Blessings" which includes a handy die. The flowers and sentiments are from Theresa Momber's "Birds & Blossoms I & II. 6-strand embroidery thread was used for the cross-stitch, around the spool, and through the button.
The envelope is stamped with paint using "Tiny Textures" an incentive stamp set from Gina K this month.
